Airbnb: Do you want receive more customers? Of course!

Hi, @airbnb! You started (and grow) a real great service. Me and my friends used your site twice and all time was really perfect! Thank for this opportunity.

But… no, no, don’t worry, all is well and you have a great customer service, good UI, etc. I just want to talk about something, what can helpful for you.

Before this, I want to understand something for myself (just thinking out loud). What are searching Airbnb users? Home? Room? Bungalow? No. They search a place. A place for living, a place for sleeping, a place for rest. Main word – place. A place for something. Understanding this global thing help you to understanding the next things (about “homes, rooms, etc”). I mean, this is a simple example to study and understanding for product development.

Ok. I have many friends (in Russia and in San Francisco), who try to search… some other places. Not for a living, not for the rest. They try to search some places for many other needs.

For example place for meetings, place for some seminars, place for, I don’t know – cooking master class with big kitchen. Some of my friends search a place for night party without angry neighborhoods :) Many ideas and many things.

You should know your users – people search many places for everything and you can show this place for their (of course, legal).

You have a largest “places” base in the world – why you don’t want to increase it?

You really should try that. You can start a “child project”, create new category’s on your site, or adding some filters in your search – it’s easy to the development and very helpful for your customers. And this is once again will show you customer service and close ways to you future contributors.
